Everybody knows that fruits are good for health and skin but there are some fruits people with diabetes are suggested to avoid.  Some fruits are high in carbohydrate content such as mango, banana, melons, and chikoo.  Fruits are healthy but some can be harmful to people with diabetes.

Here are some fruits that you must consult a diabetes expert before taking:

Banana

Banana is an edible fruit botanically a berry. What is botanical? Of or relating to plants or botany or a drug,  a substance that is used as a medicine or narcotic. Narcotic is an addictive drug affecting mood or behavior, especially an illegal one. So, the banana is high in carbohydrate content.

Those suffering from type 2 diabetes can eat the unripe bananas. Green bananas are an option whereas yellow bananas are not because yellow bananas contain high sugar content and the ripe bananas with brown spots are also high in sugar.

Mango

Mangoes are high in carbohydrate content. It’s not a good idea to eat fruits that are high in sugar. All fruits have natural sugar that could pose to be a problem for diabetics.

Sapodilla (Chikoo)

Sapodilla is very sweet, high in carbohydrate content and on glycaemic index. It is advised to avoid people with diabetes.

Melons

There are 5 types of melons. Watermelon,  Honeydew Melon, Cantaloupe or the Musk Melon, Canary Melon, and Casaba Melon. Melons are high in carbohydrate content and should be avoided.
